Daffy 2023: Revel in the Magic of Spring

 
Embrace the spirit of spring at Nantucket’s cherished Daffodil Day Weekend. Returning this year for its 47th anniversary. This fun and exciting event began as a humble daffodil show by the Nantucket Garden Club. It has since blossomed into an island-wide celebration. From the classic car parade and tailgate picnic, to a variety of spring festivities! Nantucket Daffodil weekend 2023 is from April 27th to April 30th.
 
The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce Signature Events as well as the Flower Power Party by the Nantucket Historical Association make up the official Daffy weekend festivities:
 

Thursday, April 27th.

 

Flower Crown Party at Nantucket Dreamland

Start your daffodil weekend in style at the Flower Crown Party. Taking place in the Dreamland Theater Harborview Room. Running from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Craft a stunning flower crown using daffodils and other florals. All with help from Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce team. Enjoy drinks, appetizers, and a chance to win a Daffodil Day Swag Bag!
 

Friday, April 28th

 

The Flower Power Party with the Nantucket Historical Association

Sport your best floral attire at the Flower Crown Party! Hosted by the Nantucket Historical Association. Made possible with help from N Magazine and the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce. Indulge in delicious hors d’oeuvres, themed drinks, and fun with a photo booth at this lively event. The best-dressed guest will receive a prize. Saturday, April 29th

 

Daffodil Flower Show

Admire the “Seas of Daffodils” at the 47th Daffodil Show hosted by the Nantucket Garden Club. This event is at Bartlett’s Farm greenhouses from 2 to 5 pm.
 

Antique Car Parade & Tailgate Picnic

Secure a spot along Main Street and watch the daffodil-adorned vintage cars. Vote for your favorites at the Daffodil stage at the bottom of Main Street. The parade starts at noon and follows a specific route before heading to ‘Sconset.
 

Hat Pageant

Showcase your creativity at the 2023 daffodil-themed hat pageant. Open to all ages, with awards given for adult and children categories. The event begins after the Children’s Parade at Children’s Beach 10:30 AM.
 

Children’s Bike Parade

Starting at 12:00 pm at Children’s Beach. Features kids of all ages parading their daffodil-decorated bicycles, wagons, skateboards, and more.
 

Visit with Barnaby Bear at Children’s Beach

Join author Wendy Rouillard for a meet and greet with Barnaby Bear. Surprise giveaways too.
 

NanPuppets at Children’s Beach

Be entertained by Lizza Obremski’s original NanPuppets show. Suitable for all ages.
 

10th Annual Daffy Dog Parade

Register your dog for the parade from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Federal & Main Street corner table. Prizes awarded to the top three canine contestant. All proceeds benefiting Nantucket Safe Harbor for Animals (NiSHA).
 

Sunday, April 30th

Closing Celebrations Wind down the Daffy Weekend with the following events:
 

Daffodil Festival Bazaar on the Tavern Patio

Shop a diverse range of artisanal goods on the Tavern & Gazebo’s patio. Featuring an array of local vendors, artisans and plenty of fun.
 

Daffodil Flower Show

 

Stop by Bartlett’s Farm greenhouses from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday for day 2 of the Daffodil Flower Show. Featuring the theme, “Seas of Daffodils”. this enchanting showcase is the perfect way to wrap up your Daffodil Day weekend.
